The Society for Social Studies of Science is committed to providing an important intellectual value—the communication of ideas—at a low membership rate. For 25 years, this has been accomplished through publications and meetings. Scholarly interchange should be both accessible and inexpensive.
Our primary publication is the journal, Science, Technology, & Human Values, which is provided as a benefit of membership. In addition we publish comprehensive overviews of the field. The recent Handbook is now available.
The Handbook of Science and Technology Studies provides a comprehensive and authoritative overview of the field, reviewing current research and major theoretical and methodological approaches and analyzing emergent issues in a form that is accessible to new and established scholars from a range of disciplines.
The journal is an international, multidisciplinary publication containing research and commentary on the dynamics of science and technology, including their relationship to politics, society, and culture. As the official journal of the Society for Social Studies of Science, Science, Technology & Human Values exists to foster the development of the field of science and technology studies, no matter the perspective of the authors. All submissions are peer reviewed.
