Updated: October 24 2016

The Technology, Culture, and Society (TCS) Department at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering invites outstanding applicants for a full-time tenured or tenure track appointment at open rank within the Integrated Digital Media (IDM) program.

We invite applications from candidates who have a strong commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and university service. We will consider applicants in all areas of digital media, but with a preference for individuals with research and teaching interests at the intersection of engineering and creative practice, including, but not limited to: assistive technology, digital fabrication, physical and wearable computing, human-computer interaction, machine learning and applied media, interactive installation, motion capture or real-time live performance. The candidate should be committed to all levels of teaching, from introductory undergraduates to graduate students.

The applicant must have:
● A terminal degree in the field or a related field, Ph.D. strongly preferred.
● Candidates with a hybrid academic background (e.g., degrees in engineering and arts) are especially encouraged to apply;
● Demonstrate the ability to develop and lead high-quality research and to attract external funding
● Demonstrate excellence in teaching and service.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, web portfolio, separate statements about your research and teaching philosophy and contact information for three professional references.

The position will be open until filled. Due to the high volume of applications, only those selected for interview will be contacted. Applications can be submitted to: http://apply.interfolio.com/38864

The faculty and students of Integrated Digital Media (IDM) in the Tandon School of Engineering are at the forefront of research within the Brooklyn Research Triangle and have access to a world-class facility at the NYU Media and Games Network (MAGNET), alongside programs from the Tisch Game Center, Steinhardt Education Technology, the Courant Institute, and the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP), as well as key collaborations with other divisions of NYU.
